So I haven’t quite waxed lyrical about this yet but let it be known that I LOVE The Set. This cosy little spot in Regency Square won a prestigious Bib Gourmand this year and it couldn’t have been more deserved.

The Set brunch review

Though its menu has gone through a huge change over the last year, the same values that underpin its success are still there: a casual atmosphere you can take a date, your parents or a group of mates (The Fix bar next door will even sort you further into the evening), lovely staff, and fantastic food – all with an affordable price tag.

We visited for brunch not too long ago and were just as impressed. The potato cake (£8) was a clear winner between us – and beautifully plated – but the Veggie Breakfast (£10.50) and Merguez Eggs (£8) were also a shout and a half (yes we ordered three dishes between two people – and what?!)

Aptly, the menu is as seasonally affective as my SAD – think rich and hearty flavours perfect for getting us all through the winter months. Phew!
