We went a bit ham with brunch this weekend (no pun intended!), with not one but TWO delicious eggy meals. Here’s our very first visit to the wonderful Cafe Rust on London Road, whose shabby chic interiors offered a welcome escape from the horrid rain.

cafe rust brighton review

We went a bit ham with brunch this weekend (no pun intended!), with not one but TWO delicious eggy meals. Here’s our very first visit to the wonderful Cafe Rust on London Road, whose shabby chic interiors offered a welcome escape from the horrid rain.

On our plate:

Café Rust – Pan fried chorizo, bacon, roasted mushroom & tomato, sautéed spinach, two poached eggs on sourdough – £10

Cafe rust review - veggie breakfast, with tomato, mushrooms and poached eggs in picture. Black coffee pictured to bottom left of image
cafe rust review – full plate view of veggie breakfast, including poached egg, halloumi, grilled tomato, sliced avocado, spinach, mushroom and fresh bread
Rustic Veggie – Pan fried halloumi, roasted mushroom & tomato, sautéed spinach, smashed avocado, two poached eggs on sourdough – £9. Freshly squeezed orange juice was an additional treat

Rustic charm

This stunning brunch spot is complimented by homely vibes with a charming chalkboard, fairy lights and a mish-mash of furniture

cafe rust interiors – a deer skull with antlers is illuminated by the fairy lights wound around it, which descend to the framed blackboard menu detailing the brunch specials
